  1. Totally innocent, happy baby, taking a break, hanging onto the sofa before launching off on another exciting walk, encouraged by loving witnesses. The image carefully scraped and forever altered, brought into a realm of manipulated interpretation. The image of a single flower would be considered more simple. A human image is necessarily more loaded with possible context. A photograph randomly traumatized struggles to arrive at it's own reality beyond what the image portrays. But a photograph physically and deliberately altered with a tool achieves that distinction. Must we identify less with the image and more with the act of manipulation and it's results? Or does the modified image now wait to be photographed and manipulated again and again?
