  1. I encourage this direction too.
I like the teasing up of the fibers of the paper. The low res and/or slightly out of focus photo has it's charm but if you take one of those LED flashlights, dark room, angle it across the surface and cast sharper shadows. I'd love to get my macro setup on the piece. High res showing the fibers themselves. THEN you'd have something to print big. You'd be seeing wonderful detail that was lost to the naked eye. Also, oblique camera angles might have something too.
I wonder about: Using Exacto blade to poke tiny slits to revisit the rain. Is it impossible to pull up fibers in tiny areas then saturate them with ink to again, achieve the black rain.

  2. Glad you like this, I am. Okay - at some point I am going to send this piece to you and I would love for you to do what you describe here in terms of the high res fibers. I have mounted this on a cardboard "frame" but I don't think that should interfere with your photos. And in that package could be other items if you wanted those to, and you could spend some time with them.

And this idea about he rain and the blade I love and may even try out a primitive version of that tonight at the bar to see if the coasters are a good materiel for this fine idea of yours...
