  1. Steve Howe on pedal steel? I'm glad he cleaned up his act and is getting his life back together after his days with the Dodgers and Mets. I was worried about that guy . . .

  2. Other Steve Howe - but then you knew that...

    You know, years later, when Howe was making a come-back in the minors (this was before he returned to the majors with the Yankees), he was playing minor league ball in Salinas, who were unaffiliated at the time. We were living in Santa Cruz and a bunch of us went down to see the Spurs vs. the SJ Giants - Kevin Bass was doing a rehab that night for SJ. Late 80s maybe this was? Anyway, I was FUCK ALL DRUNK and I cornered Steve Howe and told him what a fan I had been, and how proud we all were that he had squared himself away. Who wouldn't thrill to being approached by a drunk guy complimenting you on cleaning up your act.

    Then he rolled his pick-up a few years after that and he was gone...
